2021 is well underway and again we have seen huge changes in our everyday lives, yet society continues largely as before, and we are all making the best we can out of the current situations.
We were somewhat surprised to hear from the UK Press that, once the Covid Vaccine was introduced, the number of people booking their summer holidays increased in an incredible way. One major operator saying the their business had gone up by 300%. Well, it’s best to be positive and make plans for the future. Fortunately, most hospitality organisations have introduced more flexible re-booking, cancellation and refund arrangements which makes a commitment to a holiday a little less worrying. Once travel restrictions have been lifted, no doubt the desire to travel to other places will return. Here at La Richardière, we will aim to be as flexible as possible over this year’s bookings in order to accommodate any Covid related travel problems.
The Seasons at Gites de La Richardiere:
We were reflecting over the holiday season about how the landscape and ambiance of our setting here at Gites de La Richardiere changes through the seasons. We wrote a blog recently which shares seasonal pictures and to accompany those pictures we found some seasonal quotes from various sources. Please take a look at OUR SEASONAL BLOG.
A small lockdown project has been the replacement of the walls around our wood store which is situated opposite the Car Park. We have also been cutting down the large hedge between the field and the swimming pool, so it was an easy task to take the 2-3 metre branches from pool area and use them to make the new sides of the wood store. Plus some pre-made bamboo screens. The result can be seen in these pictures which we posted on our Facebook Page recently.
We’re always delighted to receive photos from our guests, particularly when there is a connection with our Gites or the local villages. Iain Moir has regularly stayed here with his family over the years and we look forward to seeing them all again at some point in the future. He recently created a “Piano Bar” at his home and we were delighted to see the pictures as the Piano Bar includes wine tasting glasses from Le Petit Pressigny.
Thanks for reading our February 2021 newsletter. As usual, we would be delighted if you could forward this to a friend or a relative and even more delighted to hear back from you with some Covid Lockdown news or photos.
Best wishes and please keep safe.
