Autumn arrives…..
In the last 3 weeks we have seen a great change in the climate here in Central France. It is now very wet and windy! Our courtyard pond, which has been empty and dry right through the summer, is now completely full of water after a week of continuous rain and the surrounding fields are very boggy and muddy. All sounds rather appealing for booking a relaxing summer holiday!

In the meantime, it’s an annual task to pack away all our garden furniture after having cleaned it all thoroughly of course. The swimming pool is shut down and has its winter coat in order to keep out the leaves and once that’s all done we settle down to watch the countryside put on its Autumn colours.
However, now is the time to work indoors and make a few changes ready for next season.
Changes to our Gite: L’Hirondelle
We are making a change in our Gite, L’Hirondelle. The living-room floor has been removed and we are getting ready to add a waterproof membrane, new concrete floor and some some lovely new floor tiles.

It will be finished before Christmas, so we look forward to sharing pictures of the new room with you in a future communication.

We have also said farewell to the grand old Chesterfield sofa (Some people loved it – others hated it!). It has found a good home locally and is now in pride of place in another set of Gites just 20 miles away. This will make the L’Hirondelle living-room ready for a complete, matching set of sofas.

Congratulations:
Some of our guests will remember a young American Student, Elise Newcomer, who undertook an internship with us during the summer of 2017. Well, we are delighted to share news of her marriage (in the USA) to an Englishman (with a Scots ancestry!)!
Congratulations to Stuart and Elise and we look forward to seeing you here at Gites de La Richardière as Mr & Mrs Ramsay.
Finally….We look forward to many of you coming to stay next year. Remember, book before Christmas and ask for this year’s prices, and always #BOOKDIRECT where-ever you are staying.
Thanks for reading.
